End Of An Era But Not The End Of Karting At Kirkistown.

The Council of the 500MRCI have taken the decision that the Club will no longer be organising non-gearbox kart racing events.  We will continue to support non gearbox karting in the province by maintaining the short circuit kart track and seeking a track licence from Motorsport UK each year.

By having the track maintained and licensed, this opens the door for any other organising club to hire the circuit for non-gearbox karting competition.

The 500MRCI would like to acknowledge the massive work put into karting, over many years, by club stalwarts David Moulden, and the Weir family members, George Senior, George Junior, Frank and, latterly, Fay.

This decision does not affect Superkarting at Kirkistown, which continues to thrive and thrill, in equal measures.
