Trackskills have decided to reintroduce their Rookie Of The Year award for 2019, after a lengthy absence.
The logic behind this award is that any rookie driver, which is a driver who has competed in no more than three race meetings prior to 2019, is eligible.
During the course of the 2019 season at Kirkistown Race Circuit, the rookie driver who finishes in front of the most competitors will be our champion. That means that a rookie who finishes first in a four car field will get 3 points, while a rookie who finishes fifth in a ten car field will get 5 points. Only races at Kirkistown count.
The Rookie Of The Year in 2019 will receive a trophy from the 500MRCI plus a £250 award from Trackskills, which will be presented at the general awards evening in January 2020.
