As many already know, our 27 July race meeting included the tragic death of our valued friend and competitor, Doctor Paul Conn. Paul’s accident happened during the eighth race, and the meeting was abandoned at that stage. Four races were not run, and it will not be possible to reschedule these cancelled races at other Kirkistown meetings this season.
The Air Ambulance N.I. attended the scene of the accident, unfortunately to no avail.
The 500MRCI proposes to donate to the Air Ambulance N.I., on behalf of all of our members and competitors, a sum equivalent to the entry fees for the cancelled races. This does not affect the rights of any competitor to request a return of the entry fee applicable to their cancelled race, should they wish to so do.
