Tom Edgar Heads To Monza

The opening round of the GT4 European Championship takes place this weekend and Tom looks to make a strong start.

Tom:

It’s the start of a new season and I’m so excited to get started. A new series, a new car and a new team can certainly seem daunting at first but I’m laser focussed at getting up to speed as fast as possible. After some testing with the team I can say that the new BMW M4 is a beast of a car with real pace and presence, I can’t wait to see what it can do in a race.

I’m at Monza this weekend, a track I’ve not yet had the opportunity to race at. Putting time in on my simulator, I’ve been doing my best to prepare to race at this historic circuit.

With two 1-hour races this weekend, I’m in the deep end straight away. I’ll have to use my practice sessions wisely and draw on overall racing experience (especially from the British GT Championship last year) in order to achieve the results that the team are looking for. It’s no easy task but I love the challenge.

Racing on the continent is a massive step forward in my motorsport career and I am so thankful for the opportunity. Thank you to all of my sponsors and supporters for helping me get to this point as well as everyone at Borusan Otomotiv who have been fantastic in welcoming me to the team.

I’m really excited to take on Monza, it’s such a fantastic track. Our first test here went really well, it’s maybe not fully representative but we finished in P3. We were fast in the dry and the wet so we can take a lot of positives away, and we’re yet to meet our full potential. I’m really looking forward to the weekend.
